About the position
Henderson Collegiate is seeking Special Education Teachers who are passionate about working with kids and interested in teaching small groups of students. Each teacher will be assigned an instructional coach to assist in navigating the complexities of leading student learning and teaching rigorous content. Regular observations by the coach will occur, along with one-on-one meetings to help develop teaching skills and address student understanding gaps.
Responsibilities
- Lead small groups of students in special education settings
- Collaborate with an instructional coach to enhance teaching methods
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
- Monitor and assess student progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with instructional coaches and other educators
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with IEP development
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
- Certification in special education
