About the position

The Special Education Teacher position is a full-time role within the Richmond County School District in Georgia for the 2024/2025 school year. This role is crucial in planning for student success based on the assessed needs of individual students in a school setting. The primary goal of the Special Education Teacher is to help students by utilizing data and information to determine each student's current knowledge and skill level, set learning goals, and assess student progress within an educational model of practice. The position requires a commitment to making a difference in the lives of children, and the ideal candidate will be passionate and dedicated to providing the best practices in Special Education. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for consulting and collaborating with school staff and families regarding students' educational deficits. You will conduct initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations, participate in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, and develop present levels of performance, goals, objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for Special Education services. Additionally, you will provide Special Education sessions based on prescribed services in the IEP and maintain all required documentation, including notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs. This role is vital in ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Responsibilities
