About the position

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position spans 10 months and requires a commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with disabilities. The teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff is essential to create a cohesive educational experience for students. The role also involves assessing student progress, adapting instructional strategies, and utilizing various teaching methods to engage students effectively. The Special Education Teacher will participate in professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and stay updated on best practices in special education.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• NYS Certification in Special Education is required.

• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
