About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our Milford, Pennsylvania sites. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering an inclusive educational environment for students with special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and demonstrate comfort in working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing engaging lesson plans that not only enhance student learning but also promote independent learning skills. Additionally, the Special Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing educational plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring adherence to the prescribed curriculum while also adapting lessons to make them more meaningful and accessible. In this role, you will actively participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and are expected to complete all assigned documentation in a timely manner. The position requires a commitment to working five days a week with a caseload focused on mild to moderate disabilities. The start date for this position is immediate, and it is renewable until the end of the school year, providing an opportunity for long-term engagement with our students and community. Responsibilities

  • Develop lessons that result in increased student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Develop and implement educational plans that address individual student needs.
  • Follow the prescribed curriculum and supplement/adapt lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
