About the position

The Special Education Teacher at Care Options for Kids is responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. This role involves adapting general education lessons to cater to students with mild to moderate disabilities and teaching core academic subjects to those with severe disabilities. The teacher will create an inclusive learning environment that empowers all students to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Adapt general education lessons to meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
• Teach core academic subjects and foundational skills to students with severe disabilities.
• Foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Maintain confidentiality of student data and information.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Requirements

• Experience as a Special Education Teacher.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Exceptional Student Education/Special Education preferred.
