About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Safford, Arizona. This position is crucial in providing tailored educational support to students with varying needs, particularly those with mild to moderate disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a current teaching license and demonstrate comfort in working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that not only enhance student learning but also foster independent learning skills. Teachers will be responsible for creating and executing educational plans that cater to individual student needs, ensuring adherence to the prescribed curriculum while also adapting lessons to make them more meaningful and engaging for students. Participation in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) is a key component of this role, along with timely completion of all required documentation. This is a full-time position, requiring a commitment of five days a week, with a caseload focused on mild to moderate disabilities. The start date is immediate, and the position is renewable until the end of the school year. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Create and execute educational plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Follow the prescribed curriculum while adapting lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current teaching certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.
