About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Pinal, Arizona. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current teaching license and be comfortable working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing and implementing educational plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring that lessons are engaging and meaningful. The Special Education Teacher will also participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and complete necessary documentation in a timely manner. As a Special Education Teacher/Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for creating lesson plans that promote independent learning skills and enhance student learning outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Create and adapt educational plans to address individual student needs.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with parents, students, and the community to support student learning.

Requirements

  • Current teaching certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public or charter school setting preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with students with autism and life skills needs.
  • Familiarity with mild to moderate disabilities.
