About the position

As a Special Education Teacher at ATX Learning, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of students with diverse learning needs. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and implementing curriculum, lessons, and special education programs tailored to meet the unique requirements of each student. You will be expected to maintain regular communication with parents, inviting them to engage in their child's educational progress and fostering a collaborative environment that supports student success. In addition to curriculum planning, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized and conducive physical environment in the classroom. This includes ensuring that the classroom is well-presented and that resources are readily available for both individual and group instruction. You will instruct students in various special education skill areas, adapting your teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs. A key aspect of your role will involve modifying the curriculum according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and administering testing evaluations to assess student progress. Your expertise will be vital in helping students achieve their educational goals and develop essential life skills. Responsibilities

  • Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
  • Maintain contact with parents of students and invite them to participate in educational progress.
  • Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
  • Instruct individuals and groups on Special Ed. skill areas.
  • Modify curriculum according to IEP and administer testing evaluations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
