About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Nogales, Arizona. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and be comfortable working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing and implementing educational plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring that lessons are engaging and meaningful. Teachers will be responsible for creating lesson plans that promote independent learning skills and enhance student learning outcomes. Additionally, participation in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) is a critical component of this position, along with timely completion of all required documentation. The Special Education Teacher/Resource Specialist will work with a caseload of students with mild to moderate disabilities, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their educational goals. This position is not only about teaching but also about building relationships with students, parents, and the community to create a supportive educational environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement educational plans that address individual student needs.
  • Create lesson plans that promote independent learning skills and enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adapt and supplement the prescribed curriculum to make lessons meaningful for students.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with students with autism and life skills needs.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
