About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Green Valley, Arizona. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and be comfortable working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing and implementing educational plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring that lessons are engaging and meaningful. Teachers will be responsible for creating lesson plans that promote independent learning skills and enhance student learning outcomes. Additionally, participation in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) is a critical component of this role, along with timely completion of all required documentation. The Special Education Teacher/Resource Specialist will work with a caseload of students with mild to moderate disabilities, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their educational goals. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Create and adapt educational plans to address individual student needs.
  • Follow the prescribed curriculum while supplementing and adapting lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with students with autism and life skills needs.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
