About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in Woodland, California. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will possess a current license to practice and demonstrate comfort in working with students across all age groups. The role involves developing engaging lesson plans that not only enhance student learning but also promote independent learning skills. Additionally, the Special Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing educational plans tailored to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring adherence to the prescribed curriculum while also adapting lessons to make them meaningful and accessible. In this position, you will actively participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and are expected to complete all assigned documentation in a timely manner. The caseload will primarily focus on Mild-Moderate disabilities, and the position is structured for five days a week. The start date is immediate, and the assignment is renewable until the end of the school year. Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent learning skills.
  • Create and implement educational plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Follow the prescribed curriculum while adapting lessons to make them meaningful for students.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Current Teaching Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree preferred.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public school or charter school setting preferred.
