About the position

ATX Learning is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming summer and new school year. This role is crucial in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special needs. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing personalized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. This includes adapting instructional materials to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have access to the curriculum in a way that is meaningful to them. In this position, the teacher will provide direct instruction and support to students across various academic and functional areas. Collaboration is key; the Special Education Teacher will work closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to foster a positive and effective learning environment. Ongoing assessments will be conducted to monitor student progress, allowing for adjustments in teaching strategies as needed to ensure that each student can achieve their educational goals. Maintaining accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior is also a critical responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues. Requirements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
