About the position
The Autism Academy's Oxnard campus has an opening for Education Specialists (teachers) who are credentialed to instruct students with moderate to severe challenges. Students range from Kindergarten to 12th grade and are challenged with a wide variety of developmental issues. This opportunity is for full-time employment, requiring 213 work days, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students with moderate to severe developmental challenges
- Develop and implement curriculum tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with team members to enhance educational outcomes
- Maintain organized records and documentation of student progress
Requirements
- Reliable and organized
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Computer literacy
- Passion for working with developmentally challenged students
- Mod/Severe Credential
- California Education Specialist Credential
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with developmentally challenged students
- Basic understanding of the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
