About the position

ATX Learning is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers/Resource Specialists for our educational sites in French Camp, California. This full-time position involves working with students across various age groups, focusing on those with mild to moderate disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a current teaching license and be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The role requires the development of tailored lesson plans aimed at enhancing student learning and promoting independent skills. Teachers will be responsible for creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student, ensuring that educational goals are met in accordance with state standards. Additionally, teachers will participate in ongoing assessments and documentation to track student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary. The position is structured for five days a week, with a caseload that includes students with mild to moderate disabilities. The start date is as soon as possible, and the assignment is expected to last until the end of the school year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and program needs. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that enhance student learning and promote independent skills.
  • Create and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Adapt and supplement the prescribed curriculum to meet individual student needs.
  • Complete assigned documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in meetings with parents and staff to discuss student progress and educational strategies.

Requirements

  • Current teaching certificate in Special Education.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree is a plus.
  • One year of teaching experience in a public or charter school setting preferred.
  • Comfortable working with all age groups.
