About the position

ATX Learning is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team and contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This position is essential in developing and implementing personalized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that each student receives the tailored support they require to thrive academically and socially. The Special Education Teacher will work closely with students who have various disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders, adapting instructional materials to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. In this role, the teacher will provide direct instruction and support to students in various academic and functional areas, fostering a positive learning environment through collaboration with teachers, parents, and support staff. Ongoing assessments will be conducted to monitor student progress, allowing for adjustments in teaching strategies as needed. Maintaining accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior is also a critical responsibility of this position. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid Special Education Teacher Certificate
  • Experience working with students with various disabilities, including autism, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Postgraduate Certificate degree preferred
