About the position
The Special Education Teacher at Allendale Association plays a crucial role in providing individualized and group instruction to students with special needs within a therapeutic day school setting. This position focuses on enhancing students' academic skills, self-confidence, and independence through a tailored educational approach. The teacher will work in a supportive environment with small class sizes and receive ongoing training and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group special education instruction within a self-contained classroom.
- Deliver therapeutic services to students in a therapeutic day school setting.
- Collaborate with teacher assistants to support student learning.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development, including REStArT and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training.
- Work collaboratively with students and their families to support educational and life goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- LBS1 License/Endorsement or Short Term Emergency License pursuing LBS1 required.
- Knowledge of Special Education laws, rules, and regulations.
