About the position

As a Special Education Teacher at ATX Learning, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of students with diverse learning needs. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and implementing curriculum, lessons, and special education programs tailored to meet the unique requirements of each student. You will be expected to maintain regular communication with parents, encouraging their involvement in their child's educational progress, and fostering a collaborative environment that supports student growth. In addition to curriculum planning, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized and engaging classroom environment. This includes ensuring that the physical space is conducive to learning and that materials are readily available for students. You will instruct both individuals and groups in various special education skill areas, adapting your teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of your students. A key aspect of your role will involve modifying the curriculum according to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and administering testing evaluations to assess student progress. Your expertise will help ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed academically and socially. Responsibilities

  • Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
  • Maintain contact with parents of students and invite them to participate in educational progress.
  • Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
  • Instruct individuals and groups on Special Ed. skill areas.
  • Modify curriculum according to IEP and administer testing evaluations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
