About the position

iDEAL Hire is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ESE Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 23/24 school year in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is crucial for providing exceptional educational services to students with special needs, ensuring that their individual requirements are met in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education and hold a current Florida ESE certification, although a temporary certification is acceptable. The role emphasizes the importance of creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students can thrive academically and socially. As an ESE Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a tailored program of study that aligns with the Florida Department of Education Standards and the specific goals outlined in each student’s IEP. You will actively participate in IEP team meetings, providing ESE services that adhere to the individual needs of students. Your responsibilities will also include developing curriculum and lesson plans that reflect the school’s philosophy, creating assessments to monitor student progress, and collaborating with parents to ensure the success of each student. The position requires a commitment to fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere, setting effective classroom management strategies, and modeling virtuous character traits. You will also coordinate special events and field trips to enrich the curriculum, attend required meetings and conferences, and maintain open communication with parents regarding their child’s progress. Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Participates in all IEP team meetings.
  • Provides ESE services in accordance with students' IEPs.
  • Creates a positive atmosphere in the classroom to help ensure success for individual student learning.
  • Sets a plan for classroom management.
  • Models and instructs virtuous character traits and promotes growth in wisdom, virtue, and compassion in self and students.
  • Develops curriculum and lesson plans in line with school philosophy.
  • Creates and administers assessments to monitor progress.
  • Works with parents to ensure success for each student in the classroom.
  • Communicates progress with parents and works together to ensure tasks are completed.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and in-services as required.
  • Coordinates special events and field trips to enrich curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Student Education required.
  • Current Florida ESE certification required (Temporary is accepted; however, NOT letter of eligibility).
  • 1 year of teaching experience required.
  • 1 year of special education experience required.
  • Teaching Certification required.
  • Special Education Certification required.
