About the position

The Special Loans Specialist is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of specialized mortgage loans, ensuring compliance, quality control, and accurate servicing across various loan types. This role involves collaboration with internal teams to uphold the company's commitment to leadership and customer satisfaction by delivering meticulous care in handling complex loan products.

Responsibilities

• Accurately board loans to the FICS Mortgage Servicer system and conduct thorough quality control reviews.
• Collaborate with funding and correspondent teams to ensure all loans meet standards before boarding.
• Process loan account modifications and monitor daily reports for maintenance needs.
• Oversee daily MERS activities, ensuring compliance with MERS standards and company policies.
• Conduct monthly quality control of registered loans and perform regular MERS reconciliation.
• Manage compliance with SCRA and Successor in Interest regulations, ensuring borrower protections.
• Prepare and review reports for investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify and implement enhancements to special loan servicing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline servicing processes and resolve borrower-related issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mortgage servicing, focusing on special loan products and MERS processes.
• Strong understanding of MERS, SCRA, Successor in Interest regulations, and non-standard loan products.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in mortgage servicing software (e.g., FICS Mortgage Servicer) and MERS platform.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with MSP or FICS' Mortgage Servicer.
