About the position
The Special Needs Daycare Teacher at Integral Development Services, INC is responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment for children with special needs. This role involves implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining effective communication with parents. The teacher will engage with children during various activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and rest periods
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress
- Monitor and manage classroom behavior to ensure a positive and respectful atmosphere
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and other basic care needs of young children
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a daycare, nanny, babysitting, or caregiving role
- Strong classroom management skills to effectively guide and engage students
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors and implement behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching experience (1 year preferred)
- Childcare experience (1 year preferred)
