About the position

The Special Operations Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for the coordination, development, and evaluation of programs and services that enhance the resiliency of military units and their families. This role involves organizing peer support networks, recruiting and training peer support counselors, and collecting data for program assessments. The Coordinator will support commands at various levels and locations, ensuring that community resources are effectively utilized to meet the needs of service members and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and evaluate programs and services for unit resiliency.
  • Organize and oversee peer support networks for assigned commands.
  • Recruit and train active duty and family member peer support counselors.
  • Collect and report data for program evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop needs-based programming for specific demographic groups.
  • Lead and assist in the coordination of community support processes and networking opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain peer counseling networks for service members and families.
  • Conduct family orientation, outreach, and referrals.
  • Support pre- and post-deployment preparation and reintegration activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of social and psychological programs, including suicide prevention.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Must have a Secret or Top Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, human/social services, or related field, or four years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in coordinating social service education programs.
  • Willingness to receive specialized training in peer support counseling and suicide prevention.
  • Current knowledge of best practices in peer support counseling and community resources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Military OneSource and Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC).
  • Familiarity with DoD resources and community support programs.
