About the position

The Special Parking Operations Coordinator at the University of Virginia is responsible for providing logistical support for various university events, including athletics, conferences, and student functions. This role involves managing event support staff, ensuring effective communication with event planners and attendees, and addressing public inquiries related to parking and transportation during events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise Special Event support staff.
  • Serve as primary contact with staff and customers from event planning to execution and follow-up.
  • Respond to public questions and concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous professional work experience in event planning and management.
  • Ability to manage alternative parking options, including web-based payment options.
