About the position
The Special Procedures Tech at Atrium Health Pineville is responsible for assisting in various invasive angiographic and interventional procedures within the Interventional Radiology Suite. This role involves performing specialized radiography, ensuring patient comfort, and managing surgical scrub and circulation duties during procedures. The position is full-time, specifically for weekend nights, and offers opportunities for career advancement and a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in various invasive angiographic and interventional procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite.
- Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under the direction of a physician.
- Explain procedures to patients and prepare them accordingly.
- Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration.
- Circulate during procedures and maintain patient comfort.
- Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
- Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
- Record and process hemodynamic reports and contrast media records accurately.
- Enter patient data and inventory into the WITT program and send films for review.
- Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or an accredited Radiology Interventional Program required.
- BLS HCP certification from AHA required.
- RTR certification required.
- 1 year in diagnostic radiology preferred.
- 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.
