About the position

The City of Henderson is seeking a Special Programs and Services Work Program Coordinator to join the Police Department. This position is responsible for coordinating various work programs and services, particularly focusing on non-compliant work program participants. The coordinator will process and serve legal documents and perform related duties as assigned. The role requires working under limited supervision and involves a significant amount of outdoor work, as well as direct observation of urine sample collection for the Drug and Alcohol Random Testing (DART) program. This observation occurs weekly at the Work Program building. The work environment may vary, with tasks conducted at different locations throughout Henderson, exposing the incumbent to various weather conditions. In addition to coordinating work programs, the coordinator will operate city vehicles, including small buses and pickup trucks with trailers, to transport program participants and haul materials. The role also includes setting up and taking down tools and equipment as needed. The position is full-time, with a four-day workweek from Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience working in a correctional or probation setting with consistent interaction with offenders.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or 'border state' driver's license.
  • Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check and a wants/warrants check.
  • Must complete Security Awareness and NCIC/NV Criminal Justice Information System certification within six months of hire/transfer and maintain certification every two years.
