About the position

The Special Project Coordinator at Bureau Veritas plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the integrity of construction projects through inspections and plan reviews. This position involves working closely with teams of inspectors and plan reviewers, conducting trade-specific inspections, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and specifications. The role requires a hands-on approach, with approximately 50% of the time dedicated to billable inspection and plan review duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff in special projects.
• Train staff in work and safety procedures, and in the operation of equipment and supplies.
• Implement procedures and standards for project execution.
• Monitor operations and activities of the work unit, recommending improvements and modifications.
• Perform trade-specific code and/or Quality Control inspections and plan reviews on various phases of special project construction.
• Prepare detailed written and electronic reports of inspection observations and results, issuing notices of compliance or correction.
• Maintain organized records of all activities per regulations.
• Explain and interpret code and/or quality control regulations to contractors and clients.
• Develop and maintain effective customer service relationships with clients and the public.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in an engineering or technical field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in an Inspection Supervisor role or equivalent combination of education, experience, or certification.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, plan, organize, schedule, assign, review, and evaluate the work of staff.
• Ability to read construction drawings and translate them to actual field constructability.
• Ability to write and provide significant input into technical/procedural documents.
