About the position

The Special Project Coordinator at Major League Baseball (MLB) is responsible for supporting confidential investigations related to players, umpires, and baseball personnel. This role involves gathering and analyzing information on various allegations, preparing reports, and assisting investigators in their work. The position requires strong research and writing skills, as well as the ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Support investigations into allegations related to performance-enhancing substances, sports gambling, domestic violence, off-field misconduct, and other violations of baseball rules and policies.
  • Prepare timely reports of information gathered, presenting information in an organized and user-friendly format.
  • Gather and analyze publicly available information, including government records, social media, and news reports.
  • Conduct research and prepare memorandum on a variety of legal topics.
  • Monitor and develop alerts for relevant court filings and social media updates.
  • Secure and preserve data and publicly available information.
  • Prepare investigators for witness interviews.
  • Review and analyze documents, including organizing documents on a document review platform.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an ABA Accredited Law School
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Professional demeanor, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in Spanish (oral and written)
