About the position

The Special Project Coordinator at Bureau Veritas is responsible for overseeing teams of inspectors and plan reviewers to ensure that construction, retrofit, or repair work is performed according to applicable standards and specifications. This role involves both supervisory duties and hands-on inspection work, with a focus on maintaining quality control and compliance throughout various phases of special projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign, supervise, and review the work of assigned staff in special projects.
• Train staff in work and safety procedures, and in the operation of equipment and supplies.
• Monitor operations and activities of the work unit, recommending improvements and modifications.
• Perform trade-specific code and/or quality control inspections and plan reviews on various phases of special project construction.
• Prepare detailed written and electronic reports of inspection observations and results, and issue notices of compliance or correction.
• Explain and interpret code and/or quality control regulations to contractors and clients.
• Develop and maintain effective customer service relationships with clients and the public.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in an engineering or technical field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in an Inspection Supervisor role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, plan, organize, schedule, assign, review, and evaluate the work of staff.
• Ability to read construction drawings and translate them to actual field constructability.
• Proficient in various computer software applications including MS Office and Adobe products.
