Position Title: Special Projects Client Representative FLSA Status: Exempt Department: NoCO Date: 2024 Reports to: NoCO - General Manager Location: Loveland, CO Wage Range: $90,000-120,000 + annual discretionary bonus incentive MTech Mechanical is the leading mechanical design/build contractor in Colorado, and the majority of our project procurement is negotiated in a design/build or design/assist arrangement. MTech Mechanical performs mechanical construction work of various size in multiple industries from large ground up buildings, to complicated facility renovations, as well as service and repairs of equipment. Special Projects executes projects that are typically smaller in size with shorter durations. A Special Projects Client Representative has an entrepreneurial spirit and is able to work independently as well as within a team atmosphere. The Client Representative is involved in projects from inception through completion and is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, project procurement, leading project design, and project management. The Client Rep will coordinate all aspects of a project with the owner, GC, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field managers/craftsmen to lead the team to a successful project completion. This position will work out of the Loveland, CO office and focus solely on the Northern Colorado market. A successful candidate will be responsible for being part of MTech's culture and promotion of MTech values within the company, industry, and community, as well as being a valuable participant in MTech's and Special Projects' continuous process improvement initiatives. The role involves preconstruction development of new clients, maintaining customer relationships, preparing conceptual budgets, leading the design/build project phase, and managing project schedules and budgets. The Client Representative will also be responsible for subcontractor coordination, safety management, and project closeout documents. Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain client relationships with general contractors and end users.
  • Prepare conceptual budgets based on preliminary project information.
  • Lead the design/build project phase with MTech's engineering team.
  • Attend and participate in project team design meetings.
  • Trend project costs and scope, identifying alternative methods to improve cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Review design documents for proper scope, design, and constructability.
  • Maintain customer relationships throughout the construction process.
  • Lead project teams to successful project completion, including mechanical prime projects.
  • Prepare, manage, and update project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and manage project procurement of equipment and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical conceptual design, estimating, and construction operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and effective time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Outlook, and Bluebeam/Adobe PDF.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves
