About the position

The Special Projects Coordinator for the Department of Public Works (DPW) will play a crucial role in supporting key initiatives and operational engagements within the Commissioner's Office. This position involves managing projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets, and facilitating effective communication among project teams to achieve departmental goals. The coordinator will work independently and collaboratively on various projects, contributing to strategic decisions and optimizing departmental operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support DPW's Project Managers and the Commissioner's Office on operational engagements and key initiatives.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and details to ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope.
  • Communicate effectively to keep project teams aligned and engaged for operational success.
  • Develop recommendations to streamline processes and improve resource allocation.
  • Work on cross-functional projects using analytical techniques to guide strategic decisions.
  • Define project requirements, scope, and objectives, ensuring all needs are met as projects evolve.
  • Perform project coordination tasks, including schedule and risk management, and maintain project documentation.
  • Conduct quality control throughout the project lifecycle to maintain expected standards.
