This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of service projects, with a direct responsibility for project estimation, quote preparation, and execution. The Special Projects Manager will lead teams to accomplish specific objectives within designated time frames and available resources. A deep understanding of the HVAC/R service industry is essential for success in this position. The primary purpose of the Special Projects Manager is to ensure the timely completion of assigned projects while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This includes managing the activities of the Small Project division, which encompasses hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and addressing employee performance issues. The manager will plan and analyze assigned projects, establish schedules, and set procedures to achieve system objectives. Regular communication with customers, building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff is crucial to ensure project alignment and success. In addition to project management, the Special Projects Manager will be responsible for reviewing contracts and estimates for accuracy, maintaining the accuracy of forecasted costs, and ensuring project profitability by monitoring and controlling expenses. The role also involves overseeing equipment, materials, and subcontractor orders, as well as managing project cash flow, billing preparation, and collections support. The manager will ensure compliance with state and local building regulations and the permitting process, while also maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
