About the position

The Special Services Coordinator for Case Management at Ochsner Health System provides essential administrative and clerical support within the healthcare environment. This role involves data management, analysis, and acting as a liaison between various stakeholders, including supervisors and upper management. The coordinator is responsible for managing special projects and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining confidentiality and supporting the overall mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides project management support.
  • Coordinates information/paperwork processing for staff, quality reporting, and committee reports.
  • Develops presentations, handouts, and other educational tools requested by administrators.
  • Maintains, tracks, and orders supplies/marketing materials as needed for the department.
  • Complies statistical reports, researches information, performs special projects and completes miscellaneous duties.
  • Greets every office visitor in a pleasant and responsive manner; courteously answers and screens incoming calls.
  • Develops and maintains organized record keeping systems as needed to facilitate the flow and retrieval of information.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 7 years of professional level administrative experience required.
  • Experience maintaining highly confidential and sensitive information required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard typing proficiency required.
  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Good organizational and time management skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills and basic math skills required.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, on-call availability) required.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities required.
