About the position

The Specialist, Aeronautical Engineering - Structural Dynamics position at L3Harris involves performing dynamic analysis and providing test support for fixed wing and rotary aircraft. The role focuses on determining dynamic loads and characteristics of aircraft structures, contributing to the company's mission in the defense industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform frequency response, modal, and aero elastic analyses.
• Plan, support, and execute Ground Vibration and Modal Survey Tests.
• Plan and support Flutter and Other Flight Tests.
• Collect and reduce flight test data.
• Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives to enhance process and product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineering or similar field with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong understanding of Finite Element Modeling theory.
• Experience in finite element modeling and analysis codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct analyses and support project tasking with limited oversight.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with MSC PATRAN/NASTRAN or FEMAP.
• Experience in Matlab/Simulink.
