About the position

The Specialist Application Engineer at 3D Systems Littleton will play a crucial role in the Application Innovation Group, focusing on the development of advanced applications and innovative additive manufacturing solutions. This position involves interfacing with customers, managing application development projects, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory standards. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and processes while also mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Execute Application Development Engineering Processes to ensure compliance with US and international regulations.
• Manage individual portfolio of active and pipeline development projects.
• Participate in customer project meetings and lead efforts to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and customer engineering teams to deliver optimal solutions.
• Develop, document, and maintain product development and design transfer procedures.
• Report progress and status of projects to the Application Development Engineering Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
• Proven track record in a regulated, cGMP environment such as medical device, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor.
• Substantial experience in Additive Manufacturing, specifically Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF).
• Experience preparing L-PBF builds and working on metal additively manufactured components.
• Ability to read, interpret, and design engineering specifications across various products and materials.
• Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Nice-to-haves

• Quality assurance and reliability experience supporting product development and/or manufacturing.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment such as aerospace (AS9100) or medical device (ISO 13485).
