About the position

The Specialist Category Management Operations role at Enbridge focuses on developing and implementing complex category strategies to achieve lower total costs and higher value. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, managing supplier relationships, and executing sourcing strategies while ensuring effective contract utilization and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a network of stakeholders for demand planning and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Analyst Category Management to integrate external supply and demand Market Intelligence (MI) data.
  • Interpret MI to drive category strategies and provide direction to stakeholders.
  • Understand the marketplace for assigned categories, including industry structure and new suppliers.
  • Build cost models to understand costs and price results during supplier negotiations.
  • Apply subject matter knowledge in category management and market dynamics to support strategy development.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to build comprehensive category strategies.
  • Execute sourcing strategies from proposal development to contract negotiation and execution.
  • Drive contract utilization with effective implementation plans and reporting.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities throughout the relationship lifecycle.
  • Manage the supplier base, develop new suppliers, and strengthen current relationships.
  • Lead supplier discussions related to negotiations or contract issues.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive responsibilities in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ability to research competitive intelligence and develop contract negotiation plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and capability to meet deadlines independently.
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Mastery of negotiation and influence techniques.
  • Strong writing skills for contractual clauses and statements of work.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and buy-in with stakeholders.
  • Experience leading negotiations with suppliers and the supplier selection process.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and manage change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation or equivalent.
