About the position

The Specialist, Communications is a pivotal role within Estes Express Lines, responsible for managing a variety of internal communications channels and projects. This position plays a key role in keeping Estes employees engaged and informed about company-wide initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders. The Specialist will develop strategic communications that resonate with employees around Estes' mission, vision, and values. This includes writing, editing, and developing compelling content that employs vivid storytelling and thoughtful framing for various internal materials such as newsletters, brochures, videos, social media posts, employee campaigns, internal announcements, and presentations. In addition to content creation, the Specialist will manage, develop, and implement multiple internal communications campaigns and projects simultaneously, measuring success through defined metrics. Acting as a liaison and communications consultant, the Specialist will work with teams and stakeholders across the company to conceptualize communications, define project requirements, implement timeframes, establish messaging, manage production, and evaluate effectiveness using various tools and tactics. The role also involves maintaining content accuracy and following the audit process to ensure all published materials are up-to-date and reach the appropriate audiences. The Specialist will collaborate with the Employee Engagement and Communications team to produce high-quality final products that adhere to Estes brand standards and consistently convey key messages and company culture. Additionally, the role includes assisting with the planning and logistics of internal events, such as employee celebrations and team-building activities, while managing budgets and deadlines for assigned projects. Regular attendance is required, and the job may involve performing other duties as assigned to meet operational and safety needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of internal communications channels and projects.
  • Write, edit, and develop compelling content for internal materials such as newsletters, brochures, and videos.
  • Develop and implement multiple internal communications campaigns and projects simultaneously.
  • Serve as a liaison and communications consultant to teams and stakeholders across the company.
  • Maintain content accuracy and follow the audit process for published materials.
  • Manage editorial calendars and content publishing to digital channels, including the intranet and social platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Engagement and Communications team to produce high-quality final products.
  • Assist with planning and overseeing logistics for internal events such as employee celebrations and team-building events.
  • Determine and manage budgets and deadlines for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in internal communications required.
  • Expertise in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
  • Knowledge and prior use of SharePoint and digital media preferred.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • High critical-thinking skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Excellent writing skills with a strong command of AP Style required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and work with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong teamwork focus with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
