About the position

The Customer Service Specialist (CSS) plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service to customers and clients by managing order placement and monitoring. This position involves close collaboration with Business Development Assistants, Managers, and other support teams to ensure efficient order processing and supply chain goals are met. The CSS is responsible for validating and executing Grocery Products (GP) orders, handling distress sale orders, and conducting order audits, all while maintaining effective communication with clients and addressing any potential issues.

Responsibilities

  • Processes and verifies customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Oversees a variety of customer accounts, escalating questions to the Supervisor as necessary.
  • Groups orders for cost savings and pricing qualification.
  • Requests appointments for load deliveries as needed.
  • Addresses potential order issues proactively.
  • Gathers and tracks order details, researching discrepancies as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with clients and customers regarding order status and issues.
  • Works within the supply chain to mitigate inventory issues.
  • Participates in scheduled calls with Hormel/Customers, providing feedback and insights.
  • Regularly communicates critical issues or opportunities to management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in Customer Service in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
