About The Position

We are looking for a skilled Data Governance Specialist with hands-on experience in Data Lineage and Data Catalog as well as metadata management using industry standard tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance and be proficient in SQL. Knowledge of Python is an added advantage.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data lineage and data catalog management using tools such as Apache Atlas, Collibra or similar.
• Strong understanding of metadata management principles and practices.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Solid background in data governance including policy development and implementation.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Python is a plus.
• Certification in Python, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage data lineage and data catalog solutions to ensure data traceability and accessibility.
• Oversee metadata management processes ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of data assets.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data governance practices into data ingestion and processing workflows.
• Conduct regular audits of data systems to ensure adherence to governance standards.
• Provide training and support to team members on data governance tools and best practices.
• Create and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to monitor data governance metrics.
