About the position

The Specialist-Data position within the ME Supply Chain Operations at Baptist Memorial Health is a full-time role focused on managing the integrity and accuracy of the Item Master catalog. This role is essential for ensuring that all new items are built in the Item Master catalog as authorized by the System Director. The Specialist will be responsible for validating all changes and additions to the centralized Item Master as requested by user departments, ensuring that the integrity of the Master Item File is maintained at all times. This includes maintaining accurate vendor contract pricing and assisting users in searching for items within the Master Item File. The Specialist will also notify user departments of any item changes, inactivations, or deletions, and will perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the supply chain. In this role, the Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure that the Item Master is up-to-date and reflects the current inventory needs of the organization. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization. The Specialist will also be expected to complete assigned goals and contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Builds all new items in Item Master catalog as authorized by Corporate Supply Chain Operations.
  • Ensures integrity of Item Master.
  • Validates all changes/additions to the Item Master requested by user departments.
  • Maintains integrity and accuracy of vendor contract pricing.
  • Assists users as needed when searching for items in centralized Item Master.
  • Notifies user departments of all item changes, inactivations and/or deletions.
  • Completes assigned goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with a fully-integrated computer system.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with multiple levels within an organization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access for complex database analyses.
