About the position

The Specialist, Electrical Engineer position at L3Harris Technologies involves the design and development of Electrical Specialized Test Equipment (ESTE) for the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment. The role focuses on creating test fixtures and racks used in various mission-critical applications, including space-based systems and avionics. The engineer will collaborate with a team to ensure adherence to design processes and customer requirements while providing engineering support for existing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform Analog & Digital circuit design
• Develop custom cables and harnesses
• Provide engineering support of existing ESTE equipment being used at the Rochester facility
• Create requirements, design documentation for Electrical Test Fixtures, verification documents, validation procedures and other technical documents as needed while ensuring adherence to defined design processes
• Ensure adherence to defined design processes while performing to program schedule and budget constraints
• Collaborate with engineering personnel to ensure adherence to customer expectations or requirements
• Conduct technical presentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• 4+ years of relevant engineering test experience
• Analog & Digital circuit design experience and ability to work with E/M-CAD tools
• Experience with Environmental Testing of Electrical Subsystems (TVAC, EMI, or Vibration)

Nice-to-haves

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to work with Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Strong lab skills that include hands-on build and debug of equipment including root-cause analysis
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas, concepts, and designs both written and verbal
• Ability to work alone with little direction or as part of a team
• Willingness to reach out to people to understand expectations or requirements
• Creative in solving problems within project constraints
