About the position

The Specialist, Electrical Engineer at L3Harris is responsible for the design maintenance of products released to manufacturing for ongoing production. This role involves providing engineering support for design, test, integration, and sustaining of electrical components, equipment, and systems, while addressing production and field-related technical issues. The position requires coordination of major cross-functional issues to support ongoing program needs, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the engineering team and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform schematic design and circuit level simulation supporting failure analysis and obsolescence related activities.
  • Support engineering changes for Sustaining Engineering projects that require form/fit/function analysis and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Perform routine Sustaining Engineering support assignments like troubleshooting failures of products in current production, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) for hardware designs and systems and generate Engineering Change Request/Orders (ECR/ECO).
  • Provide technical and troubleshooting support to test technicians and field service engineers.
  • Drive root cause analysis to lead specific failure related investigations and support corrective action.
  • Interface with the company's engineering staff, suppliers, and customer personnel on program issues of technical concern.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 2+ years of working knowledge and experience in design and analysis of high frequency and high-power switch mode power conversion equipment.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Project to track project progress and milestones.
  • 2+ years of experience with Product Life Management (PLM) software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Power Electronics design or test experience.
  • Knowledgeable with AutoCAD to create/edit top level drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledgeable with OrCAD schematic capture tools or equivalent.
  • Active Security Clearance.
