About the position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking motivated and talented electromagnetic interference (EMI) Test Engineers to join our EMI electrical design engineering core group. This position is ideal for entry-level engineers who are eager to develop their technical competence and leadership skills in a dynamic and inclusive environment. As part of a diverse multi-disciplined team, you will operate in a highly agile setting, utilizing the latest tools and methodologies to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that meet our customers' mission-critical needs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing procedures, reports, and executing various EMI and power quality test activities across a wide range of systems, from submersible platforms to space systems recognized globally. You will also support specialized fields related to Power Variation (MIL-STD-704), Multipaction, Corona Discharge, and TEMPEST on products being developed at L3Harris. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth, including the potential to submit a candidacy for the L3Harris technical fellowship program. Your primary responsibilities will include performing EMI qualification test campaigns on cutting-edge programs, coordinating with teammates, customers, and system architects to verify EMI design requirements, and developing test procedures and reports. Additional responsibilities may involve conducting EMI/EMC, DO-160, MIL-STD-704 Power Quality, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site, and antenna coupling testing. You will apply your EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMI Qualification test campaigns on cutting edge programs.
  • Coordinate test and verify EMI design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the qualification and sustainment of various L3 Harris systems.
  • Develop test procedures and test reports.
  • Perform EMI/EMC, DO-160, MIL-STD-704 Power Quality, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site and antenna coupling testing.
  • Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Professional experience with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering.
  • Professional experience with RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers.

Nice-to-haves

  • US DoD Secret Security Clearance preferred.
  • International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification.
