About the position

This is an on-site position for the Rouge Site located in Dearborn, MI and reports directly to the Labor Relations Supervisor. The role of the Specialist in Employee Relations involves coordinating Labor Relations functions for hourly employees at the facility. This includes addressing employee concerns, facilitating communication between management and employees, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. The Specialist will also be responsible for conducting investigations into employee grievances and working collaboratively with various departments to resolve issues effectively. The position requires a proactive approach to fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Labor Relations functions for hourly employees at the facility.
  • Address employee concerns and facilitate communication between management and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and employee relations practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
  • Knowledge of Ford's labor relations policies and practices.
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, etc.).
