As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for designing commercial products and their associated manufacturing processes. You will coordinate with the product development team to turn ideas into marketable products based on industry research and market regulations. Your role will involve designing and drafting engineering drawings of products using design and simulation software, developing fabrication drawings for the sheet metal shop, and selecting product materials while designing the product manufacturing process. You will also meet with the development team to discuss product ideas, test prototypes, and adjust designs via simulation software to evaluate potential safety hazards. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and previous experience working as a product engineer. You should have in-depth knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, AutoCAD, and CAM software, as well as electrical codes and wiring diagrams. Verifiable experience with SAP or similar ERP programs, background with ISO and engineering repository software, and experience with 3D printing are also essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good project management skills, and a creative and passionate approach to problem-solving are crucial for success in this role. You will need to work efficiently with minimal supervision and be capable of creating 2D drawings from 3D models, as well as using .stp files for production. Teamwork and creative thinking are essential, as you will regularly collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, Product Development teams, and other Engineers to brainstorm, design, and create products.
