As a Specialist in Financial Reporting at Lincoln Financial Group, you will play a crucial role in preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting principles and standards. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to leverage their knowledge in financial reporting while managing routine assignments and projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting activities are completed accurately and on time, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. In this role, you will conduct financial analysis on both consolidated and business unit results, providing ongoing support to business unit teams and various partners. You will participate in accounting close activities, which include preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. Staying informed about current and emerging developments in financial reporting will be essential, as you will need to assess their impact and collaborate with management to integrate new trends into current and future solutions. Additionally, you will identify and research any reporting issues that arise from the application of accounting principles and standards, as well as the rules and regulations set forth by the NAIC and other regulators. Your responsibilities will also include the preparation, review, and filing of quarterly and annual NAIC financial statements and other regulatory filings. You will be expected to promote and enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing change management and departmental initiatives within your areas of responsibility. Your role will also involve identifying and communicating process improvements to management that can reduce workloads or enhance quality. You will provide support for the coordination of SOX, MAR, and regulatory testing to ensure compliance with key controls developed for the group, as well as prepare and review internal management reporting.
