About the position

The Specialist, Ground Transport Vendor Network plays a crucial role in managing the non-emergency transportation (NET) provider network for Global Medical Response. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the provider network, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and coordinating the necessary training for new providers. The NET provider network encompasses contracted transportation providers, public transit, and volunteer organizations, all of which must adhere to the project's standards and expectations. In this role, the specialist will engage in contract negotiations with providers who commit to joining the network, ensuring that all agreements align with the service needs of the project. The specialist will also monitor the quality of transportation services, including on-time performance and adherence to service requirements, while actively recruiting new providers to maintain a robust network. Regular assessments of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be conducted to ensure that all contractual requirements are met, and the specialist will perform random visits to contracted providers to verify compliance with service standards. Additionally, the specialist will conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with ADA and other regulatory standards, create financial pro-formas to support cost-effective negotiations, and manage provider improvement plans to enhance operational efficiency. The role requires effective communication skills to handle inbound and outbound calls related to payment inquiries, while also overseeing system enhancements that impact operations. Adherence to company policies and procedures is essential, and the specialist may be assigned other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Complete contract negotiations with providers entering the network for assigned communities.
  • Investigate the quality of transportation providers' on-time performance and adherence to service requirements.
  • Monitor the status of the provider pool and pursue contracting with additional providers as needed.
  • Recruit new providers to support the project on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of providers to ensure NET contract requirements are met.
  • Perform scheduled random visits to contracted transportation providers to verify service levels and adherence to contract standards.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with ADA and other regulatory standards.
  • Create financial pro-formas to support negotiation of cost-effective contractual relationships for each assigned region.
  • Manage and approve provider improvement plans to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Respond to daily inbound/outbound calls to explain payment or non-payment to providers and maintain strong customer relations.
  • Oversee system-related enhancements and testing for impact on operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; BA/BS Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in transportation operations is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract retention and business development is necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders is essential.
  • Experience in contract compliance and negotiations in transit, EMS, healthcare, or related fields is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Prior budget experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Typing speed of 40 wpm is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
