About the position

The Specialist - Guest Employees plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of substitute services within the Spring Independent School District. This position is responsible for maintaining the District's absence management system, processing payroll records, and ensuring effective communication and training for substitute employees. The Specialist is expected to uphold the values of integrity and continuous improvement while championing the needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Operate the automated substitute system, including data entry and report generation.
• Process new hires for substitute employees and assist with orientation and training.
• Organize substitute fairs and prepare information for payroll processing.
• Provide training and support for users of the substitute system.
• Receive and process requests for Guest Employees and schedule them as needed.
• Prepare, distribute, and process substitute applications and evaluations.
• Maintain active and inactive substitute lists and distribute them to campus principals.
• Compile, maintain, and file reports and records as required.
• Participate in professional development to enhance effectiveness.
• Interface with community organizations to promote the District's initiatives.
• Assist with the implementation of a substitute recognition program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of clerical or data entry experience
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (preferred)
• One year of HR experience (preferred)
• Experience processing payroll (preferred)
• Basic math skills
• Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a school district environment
• Familiarity with Texas Education Code and district policies.
