About the position

The Specialist, Human Resources at Royal Caribbean Group serves as the initial point of contact for HR-related inquiries from front-line employees, managers, and external parties. This role focuses on day-to-day HR functions, including employee relations, policy interpretation, compensation coordination, and performance management. The position is integral to supporting the HR Shared Services team and enhancing the employee experience through various HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of HR support for general inquiries and benefits questions.
  • Consult with managers on disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain internal HR systems and process position management and requisitions.
  • Pull reports on requisition statuses and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Consult with business leaders regarding workforce changes and terminations.
  • Prepare materials for pulse survey reviews and consult on trends with HRBP.
  • Act as a change agent for HR transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare internal offer and promotion letters and maintain documentation in employee files.
  • Participate in talent reviews, succession planning, and engagement action planning.
  • Own the new hire experience, including onboarding support and orientation facilitation.
  • Create and maintain area-specific recognition programs or newsletters.
  • Conduct exit interviews and support the offboarding process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of generalist experience in human resources.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence business clients and HR centers of excellence.
  • Critical and conceptual thinking skills for data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent customer service skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft or other HR software.
