About the position

The Specialist, Human Resources position at Royal Caribbean Group serves as the initial point of contact for HR-related inquiries from front line employees, managers, and external parties. This role focuses on employee relations, policy interpretation, compensation coordination, and various HR administrative functions, ensuring effective support for the HR function within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line HR support to the business, consulting on general HR questions and benefits inquiries.
  • Collaborate with managers and HRBP in preparation of disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
  • Maintain internal systems, including processing and position management, and provide recommendations based on data.
  • Consult with business leaders regarding workforce changes and manage system transactions for these changes.
  • Prepare materials for pulse survey reviews and consult with HRBP on trends and recommendations.
  • Act as a change agent for HR transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare internal offer and promotion letters and retain documentation in employee files.
  • Participate in talent reviews, succession planning, and engagement action planning to support HR strategic initiatives.
  • Own the new hire experience, providing onboarding support and conducting new hire check-ins.
  • Create and maintain area-specific recognition programs and newsletters to enhance the employee experience.
  • Conduct exit interviews and support offboarding processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of generalist experience in human resources.
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Strong persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise influence with business clients and HR centers of excellence.
  • Critical and conceptual thinking skills for data-based decision making.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent customer service skills with problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Professional presence and demeanor.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and HR enterprise software such as PeopleSoft.
