About the position

Pathlight Group's Autism Connections is the Department of Developmental Services Autism Support Center agency for the four counties of Western Massachusetts with offices and facilities in Springfield, Northampton, Greenfield and Pittsfield. With over 7 decades of experience, our Autism Support Services and programs are among the best available. Our centers are resources that are full of up-to-date information and people that research, provide and maintain valuable information and advice that help both you, and all the families we work with successfully support children with Autism. We are seeking and experienced specialist, fluent in English and Spanish to join us as a full-time professional supporting children with Autism who are assigned to Autism Waiver Program through Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The Children's Autism Waiver Program Autism Waiver Program allows children to receive coordinated services such as Expanded Habilitation, Education which are in-home services and supports such as Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Floor Time, and Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). Subsequently, a child may access ongoing Supplemental Services that meet the child's needs and help with the transition out of the intensive portion of the Autism Waiver Program. Pathlight's management of these programs provides support to the whole family of children with autism. We train, educate and connect to needed services. We help educate the individual's local community and establish opportunities to integrate children with autism into it. We maintain resource centers at all of our locations that provide up to date and valuable information to families and communities. Your skills and experience will help children and families gain greater independence and control over their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify needs and engage experts to evaluate and recommend interventional strategies.
  • Help implement strategies for the child and family and track the results achieved.
  • Act as an advising intermediary to requisition additional supports.
  • Educate other providers on working with the child and family.
  • Access funding as required for supports and services that will benefit the child and family.
  • Help children with Autism transition from this intensive program into subsequent programs.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working with children with Autism.
  • Ability to engage with families and provide support.
