Responsibilities

  • Deliver real estate analysis and underwriting services for CMBS and other commercial real estate loans.
  • Manage multiple transactions with various clients under tight timelines.
  • Provide quality control and deal risk assessments for work products.
  • Review and analyze financial operating statements, rent rolls, and credit reports.
  • Summarize loan documents, lease documentation, and organizational structure documents.
  • Analyze market data including inventory, absorption, and rent trends.
  • Conduct site inspections and determine market comparables for property valuation.
  • Assist with loan closings and procure necessary closing items.
  • Conduct telephone interviews to gather market data from various stakeholders.
  • Participate in credit committee calls and assist in developing value conclusions for properties.
  • Update or create complex cash flow models using Argus or equivalent software.
  • Monitor loan performance and escalate default concerns in reports.
  • Review construction invoices and audit accounts payable and receivable documentation.
  • Work with accounting firms to resolve data discrepancies in loan documentation.
  • Identify high-risk loans for portfolio trading and securitization transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Business preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in real estate or financial services.
  • Experience in appraisal, brokerage, or banking focused on commercial properties.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of real estate and due diligence processes.
  • Understanding of lending policies and credit risk management.
  • Familiarity with various property sectors and their investment characteristics.
  • Excellent Excel and cash flow modeling skills.
  • Strong business writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks effectively.
  • Critical thinking skills to assess risks and resolve issues independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Argus or similar cash flow modeling software.
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate market trends and data analysis.
